The Writing Instrument
Like an extension of my own hand I am allowing others to create my own work (yet another drift into the exciting world of
collaboration). I am laying claim to any and every mark made by the ink held inside these pens. A person could use one of
my instruments to write a check that pays the electric bill. A person could create an actual drawing on an expensive piece
of artist paper. A person could use one of my pens to jot down a persons phone number on the palm of their hand. It doesn’t
matter what is made, as each situation is held in equal terms, as an example of my artwork. I pass a pen on to another person and then walk
away. It is not important for me to view any of the pieces created from my pens. For me it is enough to know that at any given
moment, somewhere, unknown to me, I am pushing forward with yet another work of art.
